DIY Starry Wall

My obsession with stars and DIY just keep getting better and better! This idea is original and I have been trying to do this to my room since forever. Finally i got the time to get this DIY done and now its time to share it with you guys!

If you like what you see then stay tuned!

For this DIY all you need is:
  • Card stock paper
  • Scissors
  • LED lights
  • Some duck tape (optional)

Yup. Thats all you need :p
For starters, cut out a star shape. You can do a hand drawing or get a picture from google. Cut two different size stars from a cardboard like ones shown below.

Trace the stars on black cardboard and cut them out.

Now draw lines from one tip of the star to the other as shown below:

Once you're done it should look something like this:

Now with your scissors lightly slice through the lines.  As you move down you'll see the line disappearing. We are not trying to cut the star, just lightly pressing down on the lines as follow:

Once you are done, fold the largest crease up wards as follow:

And you have your star!!

Cut out as many as you like!

Now is the fun part! Hang your lights on the wall and just tape the stars on them! Then turn the Led lights on and see your wall shine!

Rest is on you! Sky is the limit!

Jar Of Hope DIY

Happy thoughts!

It's the small things that matters the most. Atleast for me. And i have a craze for doing small little DIY's that add color to my room and my lfe ^.^ Do you want a little rainbow in your room as well? A colorful jar full of happy and positive thoughts? Are you also looking for a good way of wishing yourself a good morning? Well then stay tuned. This DIY is for you! :) Simple and cute!

Things you'll need:

  • coloured paper
  • scissors
  • cardboard
  • glue
  • wool/ rope
  • mason jar ( or any jar )
  • color markers or color pencils
Alright, lets start with making the tag. Draw a tag shape on your cardboard and cut it out. I used a tag from one of my shirts. You can draw it free hand or just google a tag pic and use that. Whatever is easier for you. It doesn't have to be perfect. Just what you like.

You can leave the tag as it is. I covered mine with colored paper. Name your jar based on your theme! I named mine "jar of hope"

Now tie your tag to your jar! I was going to used the wool but i found this elastic gold wire. So i used that instead.

Alright, now grab your paper and write down your favourite quotes and cut them out!

Grab a pencil or a pen and roll your quote around it. Then tie a knot with the wool/ thread. Double the knot to secure it. Now remember to keep you thread loop big enough to be able to take the quote/ paper roll out and put it back in without scrunhing the paper, if that makes any sense :P

That's it! Simple! Follow the same steps and make as many quotes paper as you want.

Fill all of them into your jar and that's it! Your Done! Now you have Jar full of happy thought's to wake up to. Grab and read one thought out of the jar everyday before leaving home and have a good mood for the rest of the day. Smile! because you deserve to! I don't know about you, but it works for me. So here is a little something to inspire you too.

Make a jar of hope, or make a "to do list" jar! Create whatever you feel like! As i say
Sky is the limit!

DIY Gold Stars In A Jar

let if shine!

Do you want a little gold in your room? Nothing crazy but just enough? Well then, this DIY is for you! It is super simple and super cheap!

Things you'll need:

  • scissors
  • a mason jar ( i used one that was lying around my kitchen. you can use any )
  • curling ribbon ( i couldn't find one in gold so i just used a gold decor flower and used the ribbon from it)
If you decide to get the same decor flower, first you'll need to open it without damaging the ribbon too much. Be careful with that because it rips easy.this will be the hardest part. You can use paper instead of ribbon. I prefer ribbon because it gives a shine to the stars, and what are stars without the shine ;)
If you can't find any gold ribbon you can just get any ribbon and spary paint it gold.

Alright, first grab the end of the ribbon, cross it behind and make an upside down tear shape as shown in the picture.

Then grab the smaller end of the ribbon and pass it all the way through the tear circle.

Once through, press down on the ribbon. you should have a pentagon looking shape by now.

Fold the smaller end of the ribbon toards you, and the longer end behind the pentagon, over and, then across as shown below.

keep folding the ribbon around the pentagon. let the star be your guide ;)

Now once you feel like the pentagon is think enough, cut the ribbon and nsert it through the triangle on the star as follow. You should have a thick pentagon.

Now comes the fun part! Push into the sides of the pentagon as shown below.

And keep at it until you have done so one all sides. You should have your first star!

Following the same method, you can make as many stars as you like! Put them in a jar or paste them on your wall! You can even use them to decorate frames. Be creative!

Make them gold!

Or make them colorful!

sky is the limit!
